New Do!

For those of you who don't know. I chopped off my locks! The butchering happened over the weekend.

It was a big decision... made on the fly. I've always wanted a short bob and was always too chicken to do it. When I want to make sure my hair comes out right, I go to Kasai Hair in Manhattan Beach. He is the best. Seriously. He costs a pretty penny though. But the nice thing is that he gives free "bang trims" to his clients. I haven't worked with anyone else there. I just plain don't trust anyone with my Asian hair except for Japanese hair stylists. I've been to Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, Caucasian. Just never comes out the way I want. But anyhoo- When Kasai asked me what I wanted to do (and I'm sure he was thinking, "she probably just wants a quick trim") I blurted, "short bob but longer in the front please." He was like, "Wow! That is so different!" The funny thing was that he told me, "it's going to be as short as here (leveling his hand around the base of my head above my neck, in the back). I told him it'd be fine. But as soon as I heard that first snip of hair that was sectioned off at the bottom, a thought rushed through my head, "It's not too late. You can tell him to stop and just cover up that patch with the other sections of hair."

Yeah, I just needed a change. And he did a great job. Nothing but compliments since (unless people are just being nice)! Also, call me weird but, I like seeing all my hair that's been chopped off and on the ground being swept away by assistants. But, Kasai's assistants are so dang fast about cleanliness (can't complain) that it was swept up while I was getting my hair worked on.
