The thing I like about the parent of this child was that he totally admitted it. Dad (who was just a walk in and not a regular patient of ours) wanted to pay us for this glass award statue (that we got for free) because he felt so bad about it. I kept telling him not to worry about it (because it was free) but he insisted on paying for it. And I kept saying, "Don't worry about it." He thanked us for our generosity and also said he'd be back to get his eyes checked with us and bring the rest of the family. Woohoo! Love gaining new clientele!
That clearly wasn't the worst of it. But it's way too much to type out. So I'll just break it down for you:
- Mom and 3 yr old daughter walk in
- 3yr old girl takes all our pebbles from our displays and throws them at our staff members
- Mom does nothing
- 3yr old continues to lick our contact lens models/displays
- Mom does nothing
- 3yr old grabs frames from our shelves and drawers and runs amuck in office
- Mom says, "Babygirl, don't do that or you won't get momma's iPhone"
- 3yr old continues to run amuck with and without frames and rocks
- 3yr old gets hungry, asks mom to have milk
- Mom has left boob hanging out free for 3yr old to nurse on in the middle of our office and no less than 2ft from a staff member
- Staff member a bit startled and distracted
- Office is left with broken Dior frame (see photos below for aftermath)
Sad times little Dior frame |
We loved your berry colored style |
We're sorry we let a 3yr old girl's death grip get hold of you :( You will be missed! |
Yeah.. we're not gonna be able to sell this one anymore. And yeah, some of us are a little traumatized.
Readers, any ideas on how to deliver this news about the frame to Mom? I found the frame this way the next day. It had been "placed back" onto a different shelf.
My advice? That child has to do all of the filling in the back office until she's 18. That should be payment enough, right?
ReplyDeleteHah! I'll give her mother a mention of that when she comes back in... been waiting for her to come back so I can give her the news...
DeleteOMG, what a horrible day! I gotta say, poor mom. She has to deal with that 24/7. But, even poor you to have to deal with that when its not your own kid!
