Wishful Wednesday :: Cyber Window Shopping

I like to window internet shop. I don't know about you but I always add a ton of things to my cart. Things I absolutely think I have to have. And then, I "X" out of the window and just "pretend" that I never saw those things or stop myself from spending money I don't have. It's so easy to virtual window shop from home, in your PJs, guilt-free with no one watching.

Going to window shop with you here.

Rag & Bone Jean Jacket w/ Leather Sleeves

TopShop Structured Blazer

Sam Edelman Yelena Strappy

Nasty Gal Bright Angle Blazer

Sunday Market Tote in Cat

 How could I not like this "Kat" tote??

Ray-Ban Clubmaster Sunnies

In a perfect world, I would be able to pull off any style of frame/sunglass such as the one pictured above. But alas, I'll have to remove these from the cart. Darn.

Is anyone else as weird as me? Please don't let me feel alone on the virtual window shopping! If you also do the same thing, what are some of the things you put into your cart?

Eyewear Friday :||: Cat Eye Vintage Spectacles

Being in the optical industry, it's easy for me to spot various eyewear styles. I may not wear all types of styles myself, but I can appreciate the designs of eyewear out there! And, it's so easy for me to be distracted by it since it's what I do 8-10 hours a day, 5 days a week! My "natural" instinct is to look in the direction of cool eyewear and wonder what brand it is ... or .. try to name the model/style in my mind. Nerdy I know... shush!

While I was out last week, I spotted a small vintage eyewear shop called Cateye Vintage Spectacles on Heliotrope in Los Angeles. I just had to walk in. It's what I do. I like to browse the different styles and observe the type of clientele that those types of shops get. I also look at craftsmanship, age of the vintage pieces (plastic becomes brittle over time with exposure to elements - we usually advise NOT to re-use older frames for this reason, unless it's been well taken care of), and price. I'm always looking at what my "competition" is and what other fashion demands there are in the eyewear market.

I absolutely loved the displays that were set up. I would love to have something like that in my own store. I think the closest thing I have in my own shop that is "retro" or vintage-inspired are some Polo Ralph Lauren P3 shaped aviators. Very John Lennon if you ask me.

Anyone remember these styles? Well you should, 'cuz it's been out there... again! :) Loved the details of this very summery piece. Found this a version of the 70s style here.

I loved seeing ALL the different frames out! So many cool vintage pieces! And they are all brand new. Never used/worn. They've all been taken care of and only exposed for display purposes. I had to ask...

What's your eyewear style? Are you into vintage? Modern? Sophisticated? Nerdy/Geek Chic? Sexy? Simple? Retro? What are some of the things that you look for in a good pair of eye glasses or sunglasses?

Gondolier

Let first start off by saying how happy I am to now own a new Rebecca Minkoff Brynn tote! I had heard about the online sale (which ended last Friday) and was hoping to find the Brynn as part of their sale. Of course it wasn't. They had introduced new colors for the season and were full price.  I was quite sad. Then, I read a post  by The Budget Babe that mentioned the sale AND that they had just released quite a few bags at TJ Maxx! I thought well, there's one nearby, I'll stop by and take a gander. To my surprise, and luck, I found the Brynn! And I found it in this gorgeous charcoal color (a good classic color that will go with most outfits).

Every time I put on a combination of black and white stripes and some red accents, I think of a Gondolier. You know, the guys that row the gondolas around the canals of Venice? Yeah, you could say that's where I got my outfit inspiration?

:: Outfit Details ::
Black & White Striped 3/4 Top (old) :: H&M, this one would be cool, but similar here
Black Cotton Pencil Skirt :: Express, similar here
Brynn Tote :: Rebecca Minkoff, also in purple, and in peach!
Red Pumps :: Dolce Vita
Croisette Eyeglasses :: Dior, also seen here, here, here & here
Red Floral Scarf :: H&M, similar here
Thick Red Leather Belt (old) :: Anne Klein, skinny version here (which is what I originally wanted for this outfit)

Yes, I have these shoes in three colors. I love them! And they were on sale... I'm a sales shopper.

How perfect was it that I also have matching black and white striped glasses?! By the way, speaking of glasses, if you are a glasses wearer, the optician side of me will ALWAYS recommend anti-glare for your lenses. I cannot tell you how much it helps with glare from TVs, computer screens, night time driving, and asphalt glare! People don't always realize that there is still light rays bouncing off all surfaces, causing eye strain! And it also helps cosmetically. You don't see WHITE when you take photos! I also recommend iZon lenses for ALL these things.

Some close ups of the accessories!

And I thought I'd share a close up of the accessories and a random photo bomber! Peepers... what is it about you cats and your curiosity?? You sniff that scarf!

Do You Like Cat Eyes?

Keiko Lynn wears Cat Eye well (in more ways than one!), doesn't she? Really liking all the details in her outfit as well as how her glasses match the kitty's!
