Wishful Wednesday :: Dorothy Perkins

I swear she popped out of no where! I did start to see some of her items trickling into the blogosphere but then this week, BAM! Everyone is talking about Dorothy Perkins!

So I took a gander at some items that I thought were nice picks. Some you may have seen already but too bad, this is my blog, and I shall talk about what I wish.

Cream zigzag chiffon dress

You may have seen this one featured on Atlantic Pacific. She's got great style and great choice in dresses!

Photo Source from Atlantic Pacific Blog Post Zig Zag

Rust spot sundress

Love polka dots. Always have, always will.

Black drape pocket dress

I need to find more simple black dresses or dresses similar to this style. They make for great after work, dinner wear as well as... work wear.

Peach sleeveless belted dress

Cute dress but I think I need a darker color!

Black / grey beaded dress

Love the bead detailing on the skirt of this dress.

Navy blazer with ivory tipping

I'm a sucker for blazers. Especially in colors like this!

Multi print cross over dress

This could be interesting. I kind of like it but am dying to pair it with some solids/neutrals of some sort.

Black illusion peplum dress

This looks like it could be slimming and nice enough to wear to work or for a special occasion.

Has anyone else tried ordering from here except for Extra Petite [DP review post]? I know she mentioned that the quality is similar to ASOS however, for those of you who have ordered from ASOS, you must be familiar with their free shipping and free returns policy. With Dorothy Perkins, I believe Jean of Extra Petite said she had to pay out of pocket to return her items. AND, there is no free shipping like ASOS. I believe IF there is, you must have a minimum order.

Let me know if you find anything great! Happy Hump Day!

Wishful Wednesday :: Cyber Window Shopping

I like to window internet shop. I don't know about you but I always add a ton of things to my cart. Things I absolutely think I have to have. And then, I "X" out of the window and just "pretend" that I never saw those things or stop myself from spending money I don't have. It's so easy to virtual window shop from home, in your PJs, guilt-free with no one watching.

Going to window shop with you here.

Lazy Oaf Camera Shopper Tote

Rag & Bone Jean Jacket w/ Leather Sleeves

TopShop Structured Blazer

Sam Edelman Yelena Strappy

Nasty Gal Bright Angle Blazer

Sunday Market Tote in Cat

How could I not like this "Kat" tote??

Ray-Ban Clubmaster Sunnies

In a perfect world, I would be able to pull off any style of frame/sunglass such as the one pictured above. But alas, I'll have to remove these from the cart. Darn.

ASOS Sleeveless Top with Spot Print & Peplum

Is anyone else as weird as me? Please don't let me feel alone on the virtual window shopping! If you also do the same thing, what are some of the things you put into your cart?

Spring into the Gap

The friendboy and I were trying to kill some time by walking around the mall for a bit while waiting to meet some friends for dinner last Friday. We decided to shop a bit... never a safe idea.

While I have not purchased anything from Gap in years, I was pleasantly surprised by my findings in the sales section!

Pink Blazer (unlined) 30% off $40! Similar here
I really liked this pink blazer. I currently have a blush pink linen blazer (that you may have seen here) as well as a forest green, golden yellow, black, white, and ivory. I am still trying to build up my blazer collection.

Gap is also offering 25% off online orders through 4/18 with promo code GAPSAVE.

Blush Pink Pleated Trench Coat, found here. On sale for $49 with 30% off!

I've always wanted a trench coat. This color was cute. It looks more tan in this picture but I can gaurantee you that it is more blush than it is tan.It was a little big. Sizes at Gap tend to run a bit larger... which makes me feel a little better. This was a small. I could have easily taken an XS. Unsual for me.

Charcoal gray Pin-Striped Blazer, on sale from $40 with 30% off. Way too big. The smallest size left was a size 6!
Found here

Again, my love for blazers led me to try on the above pin-striped coat. Luckily for my wallet, I was not able to find a smaller size.

Green Utility Skirt, similar here (I kind of like the linked ASOS skirt better)
I have been hunting down a green skirt in quite some time now. This isn't the exact type of green skirt that I was looking for but at 30% off. Who could beat that? It has pockets! Unfortunately, the stylish security pin on the right does NOT come with the skirt. But I think I'll be able to manage without.

I came in wearing this:

Wishful Thinking :: If I Could...

This would be my "lazy day" outfit. If I could have all the various articles of clothing, endless accessories, a bajillion handbags, and about a zillion (zillon > bajillian, right?) different sunglasses and glasses to choose from, AND be able to fit in my mansion of a home (hey, one can dream), I would wear something like this:

What pieces would you choose?

Gettin' Cozy

Where I work, I'm continuosly on my feet, then sitting, then back on my feet, then sitting. Up, down, up, down. One moment I will need to help a patient with the glasses selection, then I'm sitting again billing or making calls to labs, or running data reports. And then it's back up on my feet running errands or meeting with accounts we're associated with. That being said, sometimes it's just easier dressing in something comfortable.

I <3 leggings. And I <3 flowy shirts/blouses. I really like the two, together. The friendboy asks me all the time, "How come you always wear 'flowy' shirts?" Pssh... easy for you to ask Mister. Your shirt selections typically aren't "fitted"! Try hiding your day's lunch in a fitted shirt. Then see if you like getting asked, "Ohh! How far along are you?" It doesn't always work out to your advantage.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I also really, REALLY, enjoy flats!

Just Around the Corner

According to Gaga in her "Marry the Night" video, she says that Mint is going to BIG this Spring at approximately 1:08. Yeah well, she was right. It's all over the place and in time, if not early, for Spring!

I'm not as big on pastels as I used to be in high school. I really haven't touched much of it except for some blush pink hues in my wardrobes. Today, I gave mint a chance.

Mixing it Up :: Oldies but Goodies

Every year, I go through my closet to see if there's something that I can donate (and also make more space... it gets quite packed in my small closet!). I found a gold pleather blazer that was given to me as a gift. I haven't worn it ever. And I always forget that I have it! Decided to play around with it. And I've decided, it's a keeper! I think I'll wear it out soon!

Don't mind my bad lighting. I really need to get a better light bulb!

Playful Work Attire

Today I tried to have fun with my wardrobe. I think I come up with better outfit choices on the whim. I can never plan out my outfits ahead of time. It makes my head hurt too much. My outfit today went something a little like this:
Asos Pleated Top with Black Tie Sash - Out of Stock. Similar here in cobalt
Lauren By Ralph Lauren Skirt, Nima Linen Houndstooth Straight
Ralph Lauren Houndstooth Pencil Skirt from Macy's - Mine is actually a similar skirt, a "vintage" Express skirt
Vince Camuto Black Pumps - Got mine from Nordstrom Rack for $40
Blue Blazer similar to Anh's from 9to5 Chic - Got mine from H&M for $15

I decided to tuck my blouse in, wear the blue blazer over it, and add some nice pumps to the mix to give me some height. I also had my hair up in a messy bun similar to Keiko Lynn's and I was good to go! Got a few compliments today. Always a good feeling.

Hello, Is It Me You're Looking For?

Wow... I guess I have been on a looooong hiatus. Sorry!! I have been a bit swamped with work, family, WEDDINGS, and travel!!

I am super excited because I will be leaving for Hong Kong later on in the week and I've never been! I managed to borrow an SLR (Thanks MV!) from a friend and am anxious to get some good shots of the fashion, the food, the sites, and of course the people! I'll be going with the friendboy and his entire family... we're going to for our 7th wedding this year... and the last of them!

A friend of mine that is living out in HK at the moment says that the weather is still warm. Part of me is excited because that means less clothes to bring. Another part of me is disappointed because I really wanted to wear all my fall clothing. I <3 Fall fashion. Of all the seasons to dress for, Fall is by far my favorite. The scarves, the boots, the blazers and light coats, and the colors! Oh well, I guess that means more space in my luggage for all the goodies I'll be bringing back home!

I am told we will be eating a lot of dim sum. In Hong Kong, it's the thing to do. Here, we go grab boba drinks or sit at a coffee shop. Nope, in Hong Kong, you go eat dim sum and socialize over food!

I am also excited for Wonton Noodle Soup. Apparently there will be a great place near by where we are staying at.

Pretty soon I'll have my own photos and not have to "borrow" other people's. You get the idea. Anyway, I also want to try these Egg Crate Waffles too!! I have had them here and they are tasty and all. But everyone always tells me that they are the ABSOLUTE best in Hong Kong and that NO where in the US makes it quite the same:

That photo above is actually from when the friendboy made ME some... fresh strawberry filled! I think his egg puff/waffle has been the best I've had so far... maybe I might be a little biased...

Anyway, I am excited (as you can see... mostly about food. If I come back a little pudgier and unrecognizable, I promise it's still me). One last photo of some HK street fashion that I can appreciate:

More to follow when I return!

P.S. If you are now craving some of the above foods mentioned. Here are a couple of recommendations in the L.A./San Gabriel Valley area:

Wonton Noodle Soup: Green Zone and Won Won Kitchen
Dim Sum (HK Style -- Made to Order): Elite Restaurant and Sea Harbour Seafood Restaurant
HK Egg Puff: Tasty Garden

If only I knew enough Cantonese to say the equivalent of "Bon Apetit!" I would... anyway, enjoy!
