As Sharp as a Tack

Older people are funny. They are just so cute with their quirk and wit!

This morning I was helping a 95 year old patient of mine. He was telling me random things about the Marines, how much he loves Tabasco sauce and how he went to the factory where it was made in New Orleans, and how he thinks his wife stole his sunglasses (he's kidding)... which is why he came in today. He needed a replacement pair.

And then he asks me, "Where did you get your layered look from?"

I chose to wear a a layered drawstring dress in Dark Slate by BCBGeneration (now on sale from $108 to $69), belted with a wide, black,  stretchy belt. I also chose to wear black leggings underneath.

To top it off, I wore a short sleeved black pinstripe blazer that I had purchased from Urban Outfitters awhile back. Unbuttoned of course! And because I had a long week/weekend prior, I decided to wear my purple ballet flats and be cozy comfy!

How could I forget my eyewear?? Currently, I am wearing a black plastic vintage inspired cat eye styled frame  (since I have dark hair).

I love how my 95 year old patient used the word "layering".

Happy Monday!

A Brief Introduction

Hopefully my stories will be entertaining to you over the course of this blog. And hopefully the pictures will excite you too!

Just a little about me:

  • I work in a high end optometry and optical shop -- It's dangerous working in retail. I want ALL the cute frames. But it comes with a price -- (sometimes) weird/crazy patients
  • I love chocolate and good food
  • I have a puppy named Hachi (refer to movie/wiki)
  • Reading Keiko Lynn's blog, amongst other fashion blogs, makes me want to shop (Very dangerous! The "friendboy" doesn't agree... nor does my wallet)
  • I've always been a native born LA girl... minus the high maintenance and shallow aspect
If you ever have questions about my posts, please feel free to ask!
