No Fun in the Sun for Hachi Today

Wish Hachi luck this weekend in his recovery from "neutering". He just had it done yesterday :( He had a "shy" testicle, meaning one was hiding and one had descended. Apparently when you don't get this taken care of, it could cause prostate cancer in dogs.

Poor thing! He's going to have to wear the cone of shame for a few days AND he'll probably lose more weight (he gets so depressed).

Just got word from the vet that his procedure went well and is just waking up from surgery. We get to pick him up in a few hours so I'm sure he'll be happy to come home but miserable and uncomfortable.

Wishful Thinking :: If I Could...

 This would be my "lazy day" outfit. If I could have all the various articles of clothing, endless accessories, a bajillion handbags, and about a zillion (zillon > bajillian, right?) different sunglasses and glasses to choose from, AND be able to fit in my mansion of a home (hey, one can dream), I would wear something like this:

Gal Pal Time

It's been a long time since I've had a chance to hang with just females. I work in a predominantly female office however, there's always the big boss that's there. Annnnnd he happens to be male. You would think that I've had enough female time but it's not the same when you're in the workplace.

It's funny because my coworkers and I were talking about how all of us were a bit hesitant about working in a place full of 'catty women'. I've had my share of being around them in different settings so I KNOW! But luckily for us, we have a small team and we all get along just great.

So, in honor of females working with non-catty females, we had our first (in awhile) "All Female (coworkers) Hang Out"! And me being all about food... I took a picture of my selections!

Chicken Skewers with Arugula and Tomatoes

Okay, I'm pretty sad about my pictures being slightly blurry. The waitress decided to stick her arm over me a few times which of course made me move annnnnd take a blurry shot. Sad face. Seriously lady? Can't you wait til I perfect my angle and lighting before you decide to straighten out my place setting? Don't you see that I have my giant  DSLR camera out and am trying to take a good photo of my $4 appetizer and drink? Just kidding. I didn't say all that. I'm pretty sure she thought I looked obnoxious with my honker of a camera. And of course, I snapped my two photos quickly and put the camera away fast!

Oh and, "All Female (coworkers) Hang Out" was pretty darn awesome. We'll be making this a routine thing... hopefully!

Crimson & Leather

Some of my favorite clothing pieces in my closet are these two items: A pair of black leather pants and a crimson red top. Oh, and some heels to top it off.

Decided to grab a bite to eat in Fullerton at  SOCO. The friendboy loves getting Country Fried Steak at Heroes. It was a little windy so initially I had a sweater on. And it was super sunny!

Oh! While walking around SOCO, we spotted this mosaic tile piece of a Fender guitar. Kind of matched the "rock and roll" theme with the leather and all. And, you could say I happened to go with the color scheme of the art piece?? Sure, why not.

SOCO is a cool little spot where all the dive bars are at. I've only been here a few times. Explored some of the hotspots like Heroes, Twisted Vine, and some.

We've never been during the day. Of course it's not as crowded because well, people go to places like this typically, at night. So there were wide open spaces -- Enough for me to stretch out! I slept funny the night before and my back was aching.

I don't know if you can tell, but the back of my leather pants have zippers. It's kind of neat because you can alter the amount of flare you get with zipping up or zipping down. These pants are a little long for me so without it, it would of completely crumpled up at the ankle. Instead, it flared and bell-covered my heels.

Lots of cute boutique shops there too. Check it out if you're ever in the area! Oh! And grab a drink for me!

Quick! Need Opinions!

Okay, so I made a trip to H&M this week and decided to 'take a gander' at some of the new trends. I tried a couple of pieces on. Let me know what you think.

Not sure if you remember that green silk top from the Gettin' Cozy but, there it is again!

I have always liked wearing pencil skirts to work. Do you think the floral print is a bit much? Or do you think this is still work appropriate?

 What about full on floral tunic dresses? What do you think about the black buttoned coat? I tried this over the top to take it down a notch on the full blast of floral.

Purple Sweater Dress :: $20 on sale

I have always seen this dress at H&M and have been wanting it to go down in price. Finally, it did. But I just didn't love it on myself. Perhaps it's the whole "fitted" thing and being able to see my lunch hanging out (literally) at work.

Just Goin' for a Walk

Saturday was a nice and sunny day. Hachi and I decided to go for a walk to take advantage of the weather (it was raining last weekend). He LOVES the wind in his face, the fresh air that it brings, and the sun in his eyes.

Hachi is a teacup Yorkie. He only weights about 3lbs. 3.5lbs when he's not watching his weight.

He needs some stylish sunglasses, he's got the squint going on.

Only two times he pants: 1. When he's thirsty 2. When he's happy about going on walks!

There's those "Surprise Toms" of mine. I forgot to mention that the still have a patch of canvas on the back with their signature label/logo.

"Hey Hachi! Get back here!"

S#!% happens, right? And somebody's gotta do the dirty work. Thanks Bub!

Mad Men Sunday :: Season Premiere

Picked up dinner in Rowland Heights from Sinbala, a taiwanese eatery.

I know it doesn't look like much but, that's a Taiwanese Sausage and Rice dish & Spicy Beef Noodle Soup in that bag.

Hot Almond Milk Tea w/ Pudding -- Yes, there's pudding INside

Milk Tea Latte -- Tea, Frothy Milk, and Tapioca Pearls (Boba)

Also picked up some Half & Half tea drinks while in the area. I have an addiction to semi-sweet tea and Chinese tapioca pearls (Boba). Mr. K picked up a Hot Almond Milk Tea with Pudding and I ordered a Milk Tea Latte with Boba.

It was pretty rainy and stormy out so we were trying to "rush" back as safely as we could, in time for the show to start.

Needless to say, we made it in time! Oh how I've missed the show being on, seeing all the 60s style and trends, the culture, and of course, Don Draper. :) Funny how the last episode was so long ago. I'm trying to remember the storyline as we watch the new episode but the fashion is what sticks out the most! I thought it was a good premiere. I'm not going to say anything (I don't want to spoil it for those who didn't get to see it yet). But in any case, it was long awaited for!

I can't believe that it's been almost 3 years! My bestfriend, my confidant, and the one that makes me want to do my best. He's also been very supportive of me and all my most important decisions. Including (but certainly not limited to) starting this blog.

Gettin' Cozy

Where I work, I'm continuosly on my feet, then sitting, then back on my feet, then sitting. Up, down, up, down. One moment I will need to help a patient with the glasses selection, then I'm sitting again billing or making calls to labs, or running data reports. And then it's back up on my feet running errands or meeting with accounts we're associated with. That being said, sometimes it's just easier dressing in something comfortable.

I <3 leggings. And I <3 flowy shirts/blouses. I really like the two, together. The friendboy asks me all the time, "How come you always wear 'flowy' shirts?" Pssh... easy for you to ask Mister. Your shirt selections typically aren't "fitted"! Try hiding your day's lunch in a fitted shirt. Then see if you like getting asked, "Ohh! How far along are you?" It doesn't always work out to your advantage.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I also really, REALLY, enjoy flats!

Just Around the Corner

According to Gaga in her "Marry the Night" video, she says that Mint is going to BIG this Spring at approximately 1:08. Yeah well, she was right. It's all over the place and in time, if not early, for Spring!

I'm not as big on pastels as I used to be in high school. I really haven't touched much of it except for some blush pink hues in my wardrobes. Today, I gave mint a chance.
